Etymology

The formation is similar to εἴλιγγος (eílingos) and πίσυγγος (písungos). According to Strömberg, it derives from ἔαρ (éar, spring). However, Beekes is sure of the Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. origin of the word. Compare also the synonymous Middle Armenian երնջնակ (ernǰnak).
