[edit]Inherited from Old Bengali আজি (āji), from Magadhi Prakrit 𑀅𑀚𑁆𑀚𑀺 (ajji), feminine of 𑀅𑀚𑁆𑀚 (ajja), from Sanskrit अद्य (adya). Cognate with Bengali আজ (aj).
