From Proto-Saka *Rāzavara (“ruling king”), composed of *rāza (“directing, ruling, ruler”) (cf. Khotanese rrays (“to direct, rule”), rraysa (official title), *razaka (“ruling, ruler”) + *vara (“excellent, strong”) (cf. Khotanese vara (“excellent, strong”), Tocharian B walo (“ruler”)).[1]
