Etymology

Inherited from Middle Persian [Term?], from Avestan 𐬛𐬎𐬎𐬈𐬯𐬀𐬙𐬈 (duuesate).[1] Cognate with Sogdian [script needed] (dwyst). Displaced by دوصد (do-sad) in eastern dialects of Persian.
