- Suffix appended to verbs to create a masculine noun denoting someone or something that performs the action denoted by the verb.
- Suffix appended to adjectives to create a masculine noun denoting a person having the adjective's quality.
- Diminutive suffix. (Sometimes carrying a derogatory connotation.)
