Usage notes[edit]

  • This verb form indicates a more recent past than resultative past -жээ (-žee) or even sometimes close future. The suffix also carries secondary evidential force, implying that the speaker witnessed the event.
  • When used in questions, it is usually implied that the speaker needs a reminder about an event they witnessed.
