Old Armenian

Etymology

From the stem vowel -ե- (-e-) + -ւ- (-w-), which has the same origin as (-w, instrumental case marker), namely (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *-bʰi, +‎ -ին (-in) suffix. Alternatively, and more probably, -ին (-in) may reflect the -i- in (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *-bʰi followed by a demonstrative element from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *-no- > (-n). Compare -ովին (-ovin).

Suffix

-ևին (-ewin)

  1. Forming adverbs.
