Usage

This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from the Kojiki.

Parameters

The template takes the following parameters, but it is optional to do so:

  • |1= (optional) - the volume, or extra text after comma
    • |1=1 - upper volume or 上巻 (Kamitsumaki)
    • |1=2 - middle volume or 中巻 (Nakatsumaki)
    • |1=3 - lower volume or 下巻 (Shimotsumaki)
  • |2= (optional if first parameter is present) - extra text in parentheses, such as the chapter title, date and entry of selection, and/or song/poem number
  • |passage= - the passage in Classical Chinese, or poem selection in Old Japanese
  • |tr= - transliteration, if poem
  • |t= - translation of passage

      When the heaven and earth began, the high plain of heaven was borne deities; its names were Ama-no-minakanushi ( is natively read ama, also below), then Takamimusubi, and Kamumusubi. These deities were born alone, hiding their bodies.
