From Late Latin gonorrhoea (perhaps via German Gonorrhoe, Gonorrhö), from Ancient Greek γονόῥροια (gonórhroia), from γόνος (gónos, “sperm”) + ῥέω (rhéō, “flow”), due the mucus having been mistaken for semen.
