- name of a son of दशरथ by his wife सुमित्रा (he was younger brother and companion of राम during his travels and adventures ; लक्ष्मण and शत्रु-घ्न were both sons of सु-मित्रा, but लक्ष्मण alone is usually called सौमित्रि ; he so attached himself to राम as to be called राम's second self ; whereas शत्रु-घ्न attached himself to भरत) R.
