Elite Eight

  1. (basketball, US, informal) The eight teams participating in the regional finals of the NCAA Division I tournament, one of whom will become the national champion.
  2. (basketball, US, informal) The round of the NCAA Division I basketball tournament where all but 8 teams have been eliminated.
  3. (basketball, US, informal) The eight teams that advance to the site of the final rounds of the NCAA Division II tournament, one of whom will become the national champion.
