Old Catalan

Etymology

From Latin ducentōs, accusative case of ducentī. In modern Catalan, replaced by dos-cents (two hundred), a compound of dos (two) +‎ cents (hundreds). Cf. the replacement of Old Catalan treents (three hundred) with modern tres-cents.
