Persian
Etymology
From Middle Persian [script needed] (*kʾsk' /kāsag/) (compare Baluchi کاسگ (kāsag, “bowl”)), possibly from Old Persian 𐎣𐎠𐎿𐎣 (kāsaka, “semi-precious stone, glass”), or perhaps related to Sanskrit कोश (kośa, “pot, cask, cup”). Likely not related to Sanskrit काच (kāca, “glass”).
