Etymology

The word is documented in local Medieval Latin as ˡtrobano, whence also its cognate Asturian truébanu. From a substrate language, probably from Celtic, from Proto-Indo-European *treb- (settlement) and akin to Proto-Celtic *trebno- (room, house).[1]
