Reconstruction:Proto-Germanic/snigilaz
Proto-Germanic
Etymology
Has been compared to Proto-Indo-European *sneg- (“to crawl; a creeping thing”) (compare Sanskrit नाग (nāga, “snake”)), whence also *snakô, but the unshifted *g is unexpected. (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
