[edit]From Proto-Vietic *b-ruːʔ (“forest, mountain”), from Proto-Mon-Khmer *bruuʔ. Cognate with Vietnamese rú.
This is the chief word for "stone, rock" in most Muong lects. Mường Bi has borrowed đả from Vietnamese, but this word seems to be limited only to certain compounds.
