Translingual[edit]

Symbol[edit]

AYM

  1. (international standards, obsolete) Former ISO 4217 currency code for the Azerbaijani manat.
    Synonym: AZN (standard code)

Usage notes[edit]

This code was added to ISO 4217 prior to the manat's introduction on 1 January 2006, at which point it was to come into effect. However, it was removed and replaced by AZN before doing so, as it was erroneously non-compliant with the currency coding standardization rules, which state that Azerbaijan may only be assigned currency codes beginning with its ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code AZ.
