Originated as early as the Indus Valley Civilization in 2100 BCE.[1]
Production[edit]
- Join both hands with palms facing inwards toward each other.
- Bend down slightly and say "namaste".
- Revert to normal state.

Usage notes[edit]
In North India and Nepal, one can also say "namaskar" for formality. In Bangladesh and parts of South Asia, "pranam" is also used.
