Lojban[edit]

Etymology[edit]

  • From centi (hundred) + 'mitre (metre; unit of length).

Predicate[edit]

centre

  1. m1=c1 is m2=c2 centimeter(s) / hundredth(s) of a meter [metric unit] in length (default 1) measured in direction m3=c3 by standard x4=m3.

Usage notes[edit]

  • The Lojban word centre resembles the English one in spelling (but not pronunciation), and is therefore a false friend. Instead, the latter term (english centre) translates to the gismu (root word) midju.
