Etymology

From the turni (governing) and the tcadu (city).

The lujvo (compound word) trutca is derived from tru + tca
(Rafsi of the gismu turni (governing). + Rafsi of the gismu tcadu (city). )

Etymologically, a portmanteau of two Lojban words: (tru is the rafsi (portmanteau-form/abbreviation/affix/combining form) of the gismu (root word) turni (city)) combined with the rafsi (portmanteau-form) tca of the gismu (root word) tcadu (a word).[1]
