Sindarin

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

Only attested in Tolkien’s earlier conception of the language (‘Noldorin’). Modified from crunc in still earlier conceptions of the language (‘Gnomish’ and later early ‘Noldorin’). Diegetically explained as inherited from Primitive Elvish *korka, and so cognate to Quenya corco.

Noun

[edit]

corch • z6Yc (plural cyrch)

  1. crow
