It's possible. Maybe even the Old Norse term was a MLG or OS loan, but I don't know for sure. Koebler's dictionary doesn't say anything about a loan, and doesn't mention the ON term at all. —CodeCat 00:56, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I guess it's fine where it is for now then. I was just curious how the -t would have become -de (I think the -t in the ON word is unusual anyway), but it could be due to levelling with the suffix in other words.
