Cimbrian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Old High German Wenia, of disputed origin. Perhaps from Latin *Vedunia or Vindobona, both from Celtic. Vindobona is perhaps from Gaulish *Windobona, possibly composed of *windos (“white”) (from Proto-Celtic *windos) + *bona (“village; establishment”) (from Proto-Celtic *bonus). Cognate with German Wien.
Proper noun
[edit]Biin
- (Sette Comuni) Vienna (the capital city of Austria)
