Old English vs Anglo-Saxon[edit]

Why was OE chosen? Rich Farmbrough

It is the name used almost universally by modern academics. It was preferred to "Anglo-Saxon" partly because it emphasises the continuity with modern English. Widsith 11:49, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
