Proper noun[edit]

Cytota

  1. The taxonomic superdomain of all cellular life.

Usage notes[edit]

When the definition of life includes non-cellular and cellular lifeforms, this is one of the two main divisions, the other being Acytota. This superdomain is usually divided into three taxonomic domains, the prokaryotes (bacteria or eubacteria; Prokarya / Prokaryota), the eukaryotes (Eukarya / Eukaryota), and the Archaea (archebacteria).
