Swedish[edit]

Etymology[edit]

fjolla (sissy) + träsk (place name suffix common in the far north of Sweden)

Proper noun[edit]

Fjollträsk n (genitive Fjollträsks)

  1. (derogatory or humorous) Stockholm

Usage notes[edit]

Can play into two different stereotypes: Stockholmers as unmasculine, and negative views of Stockholm in the north of Sweden (also for political or other reasons). Often tongue-in-cheek.
