From Hebrew גַּבְרִיאֵל (gaḇrīʾḗl, God is my strength). Compare Ancient Greek Γαβρῑήλ (Gabrīḗl), Arabic جَبْرَائِيل (jabrāʔīl), Latin Gabriēl.
