- Former name of El Qantara, Egypt, used by the British.
- 1946 January and February, “Notes and News: Stanier 2-8-0s in Egypt”, in Railway Magazine, page 54:
- The train left Kantara on time, behind No. 850, crawled along the Suez Canal and over the bridge, and stalled on the climb for El Firdan to El Qirsh, arriving at Ismailia 30 min. late.
