Particularly: “According to Geneanet, Patrick Hanks’ Dictionary of American Family Names (second edition, 2022) states “Kofron : Czech (Kofroň): nickname from Gafron the name of a place whose inhabitants were reputed to pontificate on matters they did not understand.” The only Gafron I found is a German surname with that spelling (see w:de:Gafron); could this Czech surname be a borrowing thence? Or if it's a nickname from a toponym “Gafron”, its derivation might include ; in which case cf. Bartoň, Duchoň, Radoň, Sedloň, and Štědroň.”
