Particularly: “Perhaps a derivation of sedlo n (“saddle”, noun) or sedlat (“to saddle”, verb) + -oň: cf. Sedlák (from sedlák, literally “farmer”, synchronically from sedlo + -ák) and Sedláček (from sedláček, diminutive of sedlák); the word for “saddler” is sedlář. Alternatively, perhaps a derivation of sedlina f (“dregs”, noun) or (more likely) of its etymon, sedlý (adjective); cf.
