    • 1983, Peter Irons, Justice at War: The Story of the Japanese-American Internment Cases, University of California Press (1993), 93:
      The slim young man told Poulsen that his name was Fred Toyosaburo Korematsu. He was a welder and had lived until recently in nearby Oakland, where he had been born in 1919, with his Japanese-born parents and three brothers.
