@Erutuon I didn't realise that someone else had added embolden_words() - I assumed it was dead code that I'd introduced as a guide to how to code. Do you want it put back? I can't just revert my change, as I combined it not only with the elimination of dead code arising from debugging (setting up mutual recursion A B A B ... was tricky for a Lua novice) but with the removal of hextuple apostrophes. Hextuple apostrophes arise when elements in sandhi share an Indic rendering syllable - rather as Greek operates in the origin of 'methyl', which would have to be marked up as {1-me{2-th}}{2-yl}. My code was generating a hextuple apostrophe for Word 2, and the Wikitext parser was badly confused by it - at least, when there's a U+2019 RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK in the vicinity. - RichardW57 (talk) 12:09, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

@RichardW57: embolden_words was just my proposed method, which we agreed wouldn't work. I should just have removed it at that point. — Eru·tuon 19:29, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
