攞錢

[edit]

@Justinrleung I don't think this specifically means "to withdraw money (from an ATM)" in Hong Kong Cantonese. I would vote to remove it. RcAlex36 (talk) 00:45, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@RcAlex36: Yeah, I wasn’t sure if it should be included. It is one way to say “to withdraw money” though. The entry was actually rfd-ed before. @The dog2, should this module be specifically for ATMs? I don’t think there is such a specification in the word 提款. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 01:21, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: Also, I think the issue you raise applies to other terms in the table that don't have anything to do with "press". — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 02:04, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung, RcAlex36: It was rfd-ed for a different sense (to take money), but not for this sense. I don't think we should restrict this to only terms that are specific for ATMs. Most dialects of Chinese don't have separate words for withdrawing through a bank teller at the counter, or withdrawing from the ATM. Colloquial putonghua uses 提錢 for both senses. While in Singapore 按錢 only applies to withdrawing money from an ATM, and this term is not used in China. The dog2 (talk) 02:15, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@The dog2: Withdrawing money is technically a kind of taking money, but I think I am okay with keeping it, since we have other entries like 取錢. I would be good with making this table less specific and have label the ATM-specific senses with :ATM. Please add the appropriate non-ATM terms in Malaysian and Singaporean Mandarin, if they exist. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 02:20, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Added for Singapore. Wiikipedian would probably be a better person to add the term for Malaysia. I can only add the terms I have actually heard friends using. The dog2 (talk) 02:29, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
