@Justinrleung: Yeah, this one is tricky. But 壞 basically means spoilt, which can also apply to say, machines being damaged, while 爛 is more specific than 壞. In the context you mention, for Mandarin, both can be used, but if your car no longer works, then you can only use 壞 but not 爛. The dog2 (talk) 15:27, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
