碟子 and 盤子 are different

@The dog2, the title of this is not great. 碟 is not really used as a noun by itself in Standard Chinese. Also, 碟子 refers to a smaller kind of plate (e.g. for sauces) than 盤子 (e.g. for main dishes). — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 20:40, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

What would you suggest then? I will say though that we don't really use 碟子 in Singapore. If I want to ask a restaurant for an extra plate, I will use "盤". If I am speaking Cantonese, "碟" is what I will say if I want to ask restaurant staff for a plate, but if I am speaking Hokkien, "盤" is what I will say. The dog2 (talk) 21:20, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

If you know better, change it then. I just based this on what what I've heard when people from different places ask restaurant staff for a plate. The dog2 (talk) 06:28, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
