Wenchang

[edit]

@Justinrleung Can you by any chance figure out the first character for this: [1] (0:49)? The dog2 (talk) 15:15, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@The dog2: It might be 拄, but I can't be sure. I'm not entirely sure about Haikou either actually. See my edit summary. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 15:56, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung: I think we can include 敲數 for Haikou. If you see that video I posted in the comments, the guy from Haikou explicitly said that it is the equivalent of Cantonese 埋單. The dog2 (talk) 15:59, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@The dog2: He used it in translation. I'm not entirely sure if that means it's equivalent. Like we say "I want the bill" in English in the same context but it does mean 埋單 means "I want the bill". In the same way, 敲數 seems to be "to calculate the bill" (telling the waiter or the boss to calculate the bill) rather than customers telling the waiter/boss that they want to pay the bill. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 16:12, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
