Singaporean Teochew

@Justinrleung: In terms of characters, I don't have evidence since Singaporean Teochew is hardly ever written down. But I was using the character 科 because of how similar it sounds to the word in the Shanwei dialect, which uses that character, so they are likely etymologically related. And 予 is due to the similarity with Hokkien, which uses that character. The dog2 (talk) 19:10, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

@The dog2: It's not appropriate to use the Haifeng character for Singaporean Teochew because the Haifeng character itself is a 借音字 and we don't really know if they're etymologically related purely based on "similarity" without systematically comparing them. 予 is also difficult to ascertain because of the similarity in shape to 乞 /kʰoʔ ~ kʰɔʔ/, which could easily become /hɔʔ ~ hɔ/ in quick speech.
