From French Nabeul, from Arabic نَابِل (Nābil), from Byzantine Greek Νεάπολις (Neápolis), from Ancient Greek νέᾱ́ (néā́, new) + πόλῐς (pólis, city, city-state). Doublet of Nablus, Naples, Neapoli, and Neapolis.
