Borrowed from Persian نستعلیق (nasta'liq), a compound of نسخ (nasx) (from Arabic نَسْخ (nasḵ, transcription)) and تعلیق (ta'liq) (from Arabic تَعْلِيق (taʕlīq, hanging, suspension)), name of two other styles.
