Usage notes
[edit]The term New Latin is typically found in dictionaries or scientific discussions of nomenclature. Many mentions of New Latin in those contexts are loose to the degree that Contemporary Latin is lumped together with New Latin stricto sensu. When discussing the use of Latin language and literature in the early modern world, Neo-Latin is the preferred term.
