     Volby byly definitivně potvrzeny. Obecní výbor skládal se ze dvou třetin domkářů a pouze jedné třetiny sedláků. Tak zuřivé volby nepamatoval nikdo, na celém Olomoucku. Starostou byl zvolen známý oposičník chalupník Bartošek.

     Two thirds of the village council were owners of small houses and one third were farmers. Nobody in the whole region around the city of Olomouc remembered so furious elections. Well-known opposition leader Bartošek was elected the mayor.

     […] Bohemian rulers used to give their sons appanage principalities in Moravia, since these princes were subordinate to the higher power of Bohemian princes. Such appanages were especially Brno principality, Olomouc principality and Znojmo principality.

Usage notes

The area of Olomoucko in the sense "region surrounding the city of Olomouc" is not unequivocally specified, although sometimes it is also understood as a synonym for Olomouc District or Olomouc Region, which are a lower and a higher administrative unit of the Czech Republic.
