Poosche
Central Franconian
Etymology
From Middle High German pāschen, originally a plural form, from Latin pascha. This word spread in the earlier Middle Ages from the diocese of Cologne to Dutch and Low German, where it remains (compare Dutch Pasen). In Central Franconian itself it soon came under pressure from the descendants of Old High German ōstarūn, which are otherwise general in High German.
