[edit]From Proto-Iranian *Hr̥tábaHnúš, equivalent to 𐎠𐎼𐎫 (a-r-t /r̥taʰ/, “Asha; truth”) + *bānuš (“beam, lustre, light”). Cognate with Parthian 𐭀𐭓𐭕𐭁𐭍𐭅 (ʾrtbnw /Ardabān/).[1][2]
