[edit]Calque of Avestan 𐬀𐬴𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬰𐬛𐬀𐬵 (Aṣ̌auuazdah), from 𐎠𐎼𐎫 (a-r-t /artaʰ/, “Asha; truth”) + *vazdāh (“persistence, endurance”). Cognate Sanskrit वेधा ऋतष्य (vedhā́ ṛtáṣya).[1][2]
