Reconstruction:Proto-Celtic/molātor
Appearance
Proto-Celtic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Cognate with *mālos (“praise”). Possibly related to Proto-Indo-European *meldʰ- (Proto-West Germanic *melþōn (“inform”), Proto-Slavic *modliti (“ask, pray”), Old Armenian մաղթեմ (małtʻem, “implore, pray”)), though the loss of the dʰ is problematic.
