[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *sékʷetor (“to be following”) from Proto-Indo-European *sekʷ- (“to follow”).[1] Cognate with Latin sequor, Sanskrit सचते (sácate) and Ancient Greek ἕπομαι (hépomai).
