Also, would the labiovelar in *þurhw have been delabialized due to the preceding -u-, giving *þurh anway? Anglom (talk) 15:05, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, and no. As far as I know, a preceding -u- only caused delabialisation when the intervening consonant was -n-. Ringe says that nasals assimilated the articulation of the following stop, so this would lead to the allophone [ŋʷ] before labiovelars.
