- German fragen and Dutch vragen both derive from a weak verb which is derived from the noun that became 'Frage' in German. The noun itself is derived from this verb, but it's a different kind of relationship and the words are not direct descendants. —CodeCat 10:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Present stem[edit]
Makes more sense for the present stem to be *frehn-, yes? Gothic regularized it one way where Northwest Germanic went the other. Anglom (talk) 19:36, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
