Why is *ǵʰ- reconstructed in the beginning? Does this root have any descendants in the Satem languages, which back up the reconstruction?

A page for PSl. *ględati leads here. If true it speaks for plain g(h)- beginning. 31.162.82.72 16:51, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't "*ǵʰléyd-e-ti" verb explain "*ǵʰley-s-to-s ... (with unexplained -s-)" -s- here as resulting from ǵʰléyd-tos? 31.162.82.72 16:51, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if the reconstruction actually should be *ǵʰleystos. None of the descendants has a -t-, so at first glance *ǵʰleydtos is also possible, followed by dental-dental assibilation in Celtic. Someone with better knowledge of Celtic should check this. —Rua (mew) 20:16, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
