gʰreh₁- vs gras-[edit]

Both Pokorny and Mallory suggest some words such as grāmen noted here as in fact derived from *gras-, whereas I can't find any of the noted references below confirming the gʰreh₁-derivation. Any thoughts please? Dyḗwsuh₃nus (talk) 10:35, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kroonen writes the root as gʰr̥h₁- (zero grade) in the section on grasą, and in the section on grōaną he writes gʰroh₁- (in o-grade) saying: "An o-grade strong verb to the root *gʰreh₁-". De vaan writes gʰr̥h₁-(zero grade) as well. Pokorny is outdated anyway. --Ioe bidome (talk) 22:04, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
